No doubt, the most hardcore road going variant of the hatch generation Impreza... Subaru created the R205! Limited to just 400 units this is a rare car. Take an already blisteringly quick Spec C and improve it even further.
The main area that's been tweaked is the suspension. Specially tuned dampers and coil springs work with a flexible front strut bar and lower arm stiffener to keep this car firmly on the ground. Behind the cast 18” lightweight wheels sit Brembo brakes (six-pot at the front and four-pot at the rear).
The EJ20 produces 316bhp and got a new ball bearing turbo to help spool time. The exhaust was also new, creating less backpressure, making use of a revised sports muffler, giving the car a real fruity rasp. The ECU was also fettled with to create a seriously rapid rally car for the road! Cosmetic updates were fairly subtle including R205 badging, quad exhausts / rear diffuser, new boot spoiler and some fantastic Recaro bucket seats.
When released in Japan, this limited model cost ¥4,510,000 JPY. Now, this particular 2010 example is in Japan for ¥5,056,000 JPY (£33,470k GBP). It's a lovely example, having covered just 28,000km and is proof this Scooby is becoming an appreciating, JDM collector car!
