A rather special car we supplied to a customer back in 2012 was recently offered back to us. A completely original NA1 Honda NSX-T, believed to be 1 of only 12 UK supplied cars finished in Midnight Purple Pearl. Understandably, we couldn’t resist buying it!
This exceptionally rare NSX-T was first registered in 1995 (June), covering just 67,316 miles from new.
Although in lovely condition, we felt this special NSX deserved to be brought back to its absolute best before placing it in the Torque GT showroom.
To kick things off, the car entered Torque Bodyworks, where we treated the underbody to our Dry Ice Blasting service. This is the latest technology when it comes to car restoration. It’s a particularly effective method when removing years of built up grime or underbody treatments such as Waxoyl or underseal.
The Ice Blaster accelerates 2.5 mm dry ice pellets with compressed air to over 150 m/s. The dirt freezes due to the −79 °C temperature. The dry ice pellets with their high speed can easily blast the frozen grime away. Once completed, the transformation is truly impressive, restoring the underside to its former glory!
Following this, the NSX-T entered our Workshop... Given a full mechanical appraisal and overhaul, all items were sourced through Torque Parts, our skilled technicians carried out the following…

At this stage the car is mechanically perfect, so we turn our attention to the bodywork. At 28 years old, the paint was remarkably good, helped by the fact that it spent most of its life in storage. However, to get the beautiful Midnight Purple Pearl really popping it was agreed a few days in the Torque Detailing department would do wonders.
A detailed paintwork correction, plus a full ceramic coating is carried out by our professional detailer. Using Titan Coatings PX10 this micron membrane coating incorporates ultra advanced mimetic thermoset components which offer exceptionally dense reinforced matrix membrane forming abilities. This protects the paint for years to come.
The results really do speak for themselves. The Midnight Purple Pearl is absolutely stunning especially in the sun.
We were proud to offer this collector grade NSX-T in the Torque GT showroom. Now sold, it resides with its new owner.
