As with many aftermarket part manufacturers, Tomei was born out of competitive motor sport and has since gone on to create some of the most sought-after JDM parts on the market. After extensive testing in N1 endurance and drag racing, Tomei found that a common issue with the RB26 was too much oil flowing from the sump to the head. To solve this, they came up with the oil gallery reducer.
By inserting this and reducing the orifice from 2mm to 1.5mm, they wre able to secure enough oil lubrication for the camshaft and valve train, whilst maintaining a more suitable oil level in the sump.
