Two sub 1000kms NSX Type R's at auction in Japan!

When we talk about the pinnacle of Japanese performance cars its hard to envisage much greater than the Honda NSX-R. Such is its pedigree that collectors across the globe are frantically trying to own one of these automotive icons. 

Well here’s your chance collectors! Grab yourself not one but potentially two of the finest examples available worldwide. Both clocking less than 1000kms each they’re described as... "in perfect condition".

Coming up at BH auction in June both sport the classic Honda colour combo of Championship white and red Recaro interior and are expected to fetch eye watering price tags. It could be argued however that there's plenty more legs left in these iconic Japanese cars yet!

1995 HONDA NSX Type-R

The "Type-R" debuted in November 1992 as a special model of the first Honda NSX (early model / NA1). This Japanese-made real sport commonly called "92R" is equipped with a V-type 6-cylinder 3.0l DOHC VTEC (C30A type), which is the same as the base grade NSX.

The precision assembly method equivalent to a racing engine is used, such as raising it manually. 

The body is also special, against the originally lightweight NSX aluminum body, aluminum bumpers and door beams, engine maintenance lid aluminum mesh, RECARO full bucket seat, MOMO steering wheel and titanium shift knob.

By reducing the number of sound insulation materials and reducing the weight to dozens of items, it achieves a weight reduction of approximately 120 kg in base grade ratio.

This individual is the 1995 NSX Type-R (common name: 92R), the car number is NA1-1300280, the body color is Grand Prix white (NH 565), and the seat color is red.

Of note is the distance traveled, the display of the odometer is only 850km. It is almost an exaggeration to say that it is almost a new car. Even in the "Type-R" where 464 units were produced in a short period of about three years, individuals with so few mileage can be said to be very rare.

2005 HONDA NSX-R

A special model of late-type NSX (NA2), released in May 2002 seven years after the end of production of the early-stage NSX (NA1) "92R", is "02R" or NSX-R.

The initial type was given the "Type-R" naming as in the Civic and Integra special models, but the latter type is simply "R".

The exterior uses a carbon bonnet hood with an air outlet and a finned front undercover at the front, and a diffuser and a carbon spoiler at the rear, achieving a minus lift on both the front and back of the 02R.

The aerodynamics have been greatly improved compared to the previous model "92R", and racing drivers and motor journalists have been well received as "a run that would just stick to the road surface".

The engine is equipped with a V-type 6-cylinder 3.2 l DOHC VTEC (C32B), but it is finished as a friction-free high-rotation engine using high-precision parts applying racing engine assembly technology as in the previous "92R". In addition, the acceleration feel has been improved by lowering the final gear ratio of the 6-speed manual transmission.

In addition to strengthening of body rigidity, setting of suspension exclusively, specially developed high grip tire and lightweight forged aluminum wheel are also adopted, focusing on weight reduction as in the previous model (weight reduction of 70 kg compared to base grade) So, I succeeded in giving the driver a more fan-like and dynamic driving feel.

This individual is a 2005 model NSX-R, the body number is NA2-200077, the body color is "R special color" championship white (NH0), and the seat color is red Alcantara.

The travel distance is extremely short at 560 km, and it can be said that it is an miracle rarity that is no more than this, even in the "02R" where only 140 vehicles were produced.
