You may be forgiven for thinking our project cars haven't had any love for a while - far from it. Whilst we haven't had much chance to update you, we've been busy chipping away at jobs, making changes and working on some pretty exciting parts in the background.
So what's new? Mike started his DC5 project back in 2019 but with our premises move and plenty going on for customers cars - we haven't had the chance to work on any of our own stuff!
The most obvious new addition are the wheels, a set of Enkei NT03RR's. We've had these earmarked for a while, mainly because they look AWESOME, beautifully complimenting the DC5 styling and are sold as seen on the Integra. This particular set is 17x8 ET48 and finished in the Matte Dark Gunmetal which contrasts really nicely with the silver.
Next up, suspension. Back in 2020 we learnt that Spoon was no longer going to offer their ever-popular progressive lowering springs for the Integra, which was a great shame. They were one of the only (if not the only) DC5 chassis specific springs on the market and had won themselves a place as the go-to spring for Integra owners.
After a lot of discussion with the guys at Eibach, we commissioned an alternative spring that utilises their progressive spring technology and pairs it with spring rates to compliment the chassis. We settled on a ride height reduction of 20mm front and 25mm rear, giving a purposeful stance that isn't too low, but closes up the arch gap nicely. Currently these are only available for the pre-facelift.
We then set to work on the Brakes, Mike decided on Dixcel S Type pads mated to their PD discs. The S Type is the definitive street sports pad, offering excellent heat resistance and braking power whilst maintaining cold performance and minimising disc wear. S Type is intended to bridge the gap between OEM+ style road pads and more race focussed track pads, offering excellent street performance at an affordable price point. The car stops amazingly now.
The original exhaust has gone and been replaced by a Fujitsubo Legalis R, it's more subtle than the RM01A but still sounds great when it comes on cam!
Intake wise we have gone for the Skunk2 70mm Throttle Body with RBC so we can mount the Hybrid Racing Cold Air Intake. This makes for an epic soundtrack combined with the Legalis R.
In the engine bay you will spot the Hybrid Racing Fuel Rail, Tucked Fuel line, Spark Plug Cover as well as the Slim Oil Cap, Radiator Cap and Reservoir Cover.
Also from Hybrid Racing we have gone with the V3 Short Shifter with the Shifter Cables and 130R Delrin Shift Knob.
These also help modernise the interior and we’ve swapped out the OE Steering Wheel for a Mugen Suede one.
Mike says “It’s been an epic project and I’ve really enjoyed creating my ultimate DC5 for the street. Sadly I don’t get the chance to drive it as much as I’d like so it's now for sale in the Torque GT Showroom, so someone else will get the chance to enjoy it.”
